Telling UTK’s Asset Management Story

The Facilities Services Team at UTK recognized the need to enhance their facility asset management plan and move towards a more data-driven program that allowed for detailed analysis and prioritization of where and how to spend their limited capital and maintenance dollars. At the 2024 APPA National Conference, Wayne Parsons, UTK’s Director of Maintenance and Repair, connected with Roth IAMS to develop a Pilot Program enhancing UTK’s facility asset management. Using the Sourcewell contract, they collaborated to conduct Facility Condition Assessments and Equipment Inventory & Tagging for two campus buildings, supported by Roth IAMS’ SLAM CAP software. The pilot’s success is guiding UTK’s campus-wide data-driven strategy for managing capital and maintenance investments.
