Allen Masters is Associate Vice President of Facilities Services at Daytona State College, a seven-location portfolio covering roughly two million square feet. He came to facilities leadership from material-handling engineering and distribution-center operations, by way of facilities work at the University of Florida.
In this episode, Allen describes running a distributed campus system against three problems at once: skilled trades that are hard to recruit, maintenance budgets that have not kept pace with growth, and asset data still being built. He also explains how he uses AI for early estimates and design concepts, as a faster starting point rather than a final answer.
